Private Medical Insurance for 2-249 employees

For companies with 2-249 employees, we offer a versatile modular private medical insurance product with extensive core cover and a choice of either additional cover or cost containment options.

This is flexible enough to allow employers a choice of modules, so they can choose the cover they want for employees and not pay for those features they feel won't be utilised.

Private Medical Insurance for 250+ employees

When it comes to larger organisations, Norwich Union Healthcare understands that creating a highly specialised solution is essential.

For companies with 250+ employees, we offer total flexibility. Rather than just offer an off the shelf product, we actively listen to the needs and requirements of each customer. This involves understanding their corporate culture and developing a partnership, tailoring a package to suit business needs and budget - making a totally bespoke solution.

This flexibility extends to our scheme underwriting and we offer a number of different funding options including:

• Fully Insured
  Norwich Union Healthcare takes the full risk above the claims fund set for that contract year. The result of this is that the company knows exactly what the premium will be and that no additional premium will be payable (except for membership changes) regardless of the value of the claims made.
• Cost Plus
  The claims fund is set at the start of the period of cover with a stop loss attachment point. The company will only be liable for claims up to this point and Norwich Union Healthcare are liable for claims over this point. If the claim total finishes below the projected claims fund, adjusted for membership changes, the company will be reimbursed on any unused claims fund.
• Stop Loss
  Stop Loss Insurance can be provided to protect the liability of the company by absorbing the exposure to costs above a certain level.
• Trust
  Larger companies may choose to fund their private medical treatment by setting up a Healthcare Trust. This is not an insurance contract and attracts a number of funding benefits that include
• No liability for Insurance Premium Tax (other than for Stop Loss Insurance)
• No requirement for Solvency or Policyholders Protection Levy (PPL) to be built into our pricing.

International PMI

Global Care and Global Care Plus have been specifically designed for expatriates living and working in another country.

As an offering it can provide peace of mind to both employers and their employees who are working abroad. It keeps them safe in the knowledge that should they fall ill whilst working abroad, they can gain access to private medical treatment, getting them better and back to work sooner.

It is not available to non-UK nationals residing in their home country, or UK nationals who spend 6 months or more per year in the UK.
